IEI is responsible for managing the $2 billion capital improvement program for the Chicago Public Schools. This consists of determining and submitting an appropriate program complying with the project requirements and budget, and obtaining all departmental sign-offs. During the design phase, IEI is responsible for providing an initial design development package and performing peer reviews of the Architect/ Engineer of Record's progress contract documents. During the construction phase, IEI assists and coordinates with the architect and contractor to keep the job on schedule and within budget. All change orders are processed through IEI. IEI's responsibilities culminate with the review, approval and distribution of the final closeout documents.
