Construction Inspection Group Manager
IEI's Chicago office is seeking a Construction Inspection Group Manager. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the Construction Inspection Group, from project staffing and execution to overseeing inspection staff across Illinois. You will be managing projects involving multiple state and municipal agencies throughout Illinois including, but not limited to, IDOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollway. You will be overseeing inspection staff spread across Illinois to ensure that field staff is cohesively connected with the office staff. In addition, you may be required to act as Resident Engineer on projects. This position involves extensive client interaction and coordination. As such, you will be involved in not only project execution and delivery, but also all aspects of marketing and business development with the Management and Marketing Group.

The desired candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of inspection experience, of which, at least 5 years are as a Resident Engineer on medium to large scale public infrastructure projects with either IDOT, Tollway and/or CDOT. An IL Licensed Professional Engineer registration is required for this position, in addition to possession of IDOT and ISHTA certifications. You must also possess strong and thorough knowledge of IDOT, CDOT and Tollway construction inspection policies and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication
skills are an important component of this position as well as track record ofleading project teams.
Resident Engineer
The ideal candidate will ensure the preparation of accurate, complete, and value-added work products by: monitoring schedules, change orders and weekly reports; identifying and implementing ideas that save the client time and money or that effectively solve potential problems/opportunities; monitoring construction management budgets and reviewing invoices before delivery to clients. The Resident Engineer will review regularly and be fully knowledgeable of project plans, specifications and agendas, review submittals or send them to design staff for technical review and then prepare a transmittal either accepting or rejecting the contractor's submittals. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional License required. Minimum five years experience with transportation projects. Must be familiar with IDOT and ISTHA standards.
Senior Project Manager - Transportation Group
IEI's Chicago office is seeking a Senior Project Manager in our Transportation Group. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for the successful completion of a wide array of transportation/roadway design projects with multiple state and municipal agencies across Illinois including, but not limited to, IDOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollway. You will also be managing a group of Transportation Engineers, as well as coordinating with the Bridge Design Group and sub consultants to ensure seamless project execution and delivery involving multiple disciplines.
This position involves extensive client interaction and coordination. As such, you will be involved in project execution and delivery, and marketing and business development with the Management and Marketing Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented candidate to grow into a leadership and management role of an established and fast growing firm.
The successful candidate must be an IL Licensed Professional Engineer possessing 8+ years of design experience in all elements of roadway design including geometrics, intersection and interchange design, drainage designs, and Maintenance of Traffic design. The candidate must also possess a strong and thorough knowledge of IDOT, CDOT and Tollway design policies and procedures. Must be proficient in Microstation and Geopak. Excellent oral and written communication skills are an important component of this position as well as a track record of leading project teams.
Design/Project Engineer - Transportation grop
IEI's Chicago office is seeking a Design/Project Engineer in our Transportation Group. In this position, you will be responsible for the completion of a wide array of transportation/roadway design projects with multiple state and municipal agencies across Illinois including, but not limited to, IDOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollway. You will be working with a dedicated and talented group of Transportation Engineers to ensure seamless project execution and delivery involving multiple disciplines.
This position involves moderate client interaction and coordination. As such, you will be involved in project execution and delivery and some aspects of marketing. This is an excellent opportunity for the talented candidate to not only grow multidiscipline technical skillsets but also gain exposure to the business side of engineering.
The successful candidate must be an EIT possessing 2+ years of design experience in roadway design and drainage designs. Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT and Tollway design policies and procedures is desirable. Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak and Civil 3D is an important component of this position. Strong oral and written communication skills are also desirable.
