2008 ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards National Finalist
The I-355 South Extension from I-55 to I-80, an Illinois Tollway project was a national finalist for ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards. IEI provided the maintenance of traffic engineer for the project.
2008 Merit Award for the North Tri-State Master Plan
The North Tri-State Master Plan project received a Merit Award for Outstanding Studies, Research and Consulting Services. The civil design services included existing drainage, concept drainage study, and utility retaining wall design.
2008 Merit Award for the Open Road Tolling Program
IEI won a Special Project Merit Award for its work on the Illinois Tollway Open Road Tolling Program for Dixon and DeKalb Plazas 66 and 69. IEI provided Construction Engineering and Inspection Services.
2007 Regional Minority Construction Firm of the Year
The Minority Business Development Agency and the Minority Enterprise Development Council selected Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. as the Regional Minority Construction Firm of the Year. IEI was honored for the firm's significant achievements and contributions to the business community.
2007 Public Works Award of Merit Winner for the McCormick Place West Expansion
The McCormick Place West Expansion was named Public Works Award of Merit winner in the Midwest Construction Best of 2007 Awards program.
IEI provided civil design services for this design build project, including production of multiple design packages and phases. The design elements included roadway geometrics, pavement, storm/sanitary sewer system, site utility coordination, site grading, stormwater detention and traffic study.
2007 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement for the Chicago Skyway Interchange Bridge
The Chicago Skyway Interchange Bridge over I-90/94 was honored with this prestigious award by the Illinois Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. IEI provided Assistant Resident Engineering Services and Phase III Construction Engineering Services for the project.

United Airlines Ground Equipment Maintenance Building
Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. provided site development engineering services for the construction of a new 155,575 s.f. Ground Equipment Maintenance Building. The project was honored with the following awards:
- National Recognition Award 2003 - Presented by American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
- Honor Award 2003 - Presented by Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois (CECI)
2003 Best Plan for the Grant Park Framework
IEI provided transportation and traffic engineering services to the Chicago Park District for a comprehensive traffic/transportation program for Grant Park. The developed program explains the park layout and clearly identifies the range of available activities for park users. IEI was responsible for traffic analysis and traffic impacts in and around Grant Park for different alternatives developed by the consultant team architects. The award was presented by Friends of Downtown.
Rehabilitation of the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool Project Wins Awards
Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. provided civil engineering design for the rehabilitation of a historic 1.5-acre naturalistic sanctuary to the Chicago Park District. The project won the following awards:
- Honor Award 2003 - Presented by Illinois Chapter American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA)
- Distinguished Building Award 2003 - Presented by Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
- Preservation Excellence 2003 - Presented by Commission on Chicago Landmarks
- Preservation Award for Landscape Restoration 2002 - Presented by Richard M. Driehaus Foundation
- Gold Award 2002 - Presented by Landscape Contractors Association
