IEI Completes First IT Project

Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. completed information technology work for Brand New Beginnings (BNB), a faith-based community housing development organization based in the south side of Chicago. BNB currently operates an affordable housing project, the Sojourner Truth building, which houses twenty-four families and provides wraparound social services.

IEI worked with BNB to develop a classroom where tenants could acquire computer skills and learn job readiness training. With over 14 years of experience in computer consulting, this project was led by Systems Engineer, Enos Marongwe, who set up computers in their classroom and troubleshot various IT issues the organization was experiencing.

Duties included the setup and networking of 14 Windows XP based workstations and printers. Within a week, BNB's office went from having one personal computer connected to the Internet to all computers in individual offices and the new classroom having Internet access. All the latest Microsoft Windows updates and Symantec antivirus software was installed on each computer to ensure security. Repairs were also performed on existing office technology equipment to get BNB's classroom working efficiently.

Now that the classroom is up and running, IEI will continue to work with BNB on an ongoing support basis. IEI will provide technical support, training, maintenance and will strategically plan to continually utilize top technology applications to support the mission and values of BNB.
