Vice President, Business Development
INGENUITY Experience. Aaron Patterson, IEI’s Vice President of Business Development (BD), has more than 15 years of A/E/C industry experience and is responsible for IEI’s local and national business development strategy, working in eight cities across the United States to enhance client relationships, market growth and bottom-line performance.
Mr. Patterson drives innovation and transformative thought leadership across the company, while further strengthening and cultivating the business development culture.
He serves as the primary business development liaison between the leadership of IEI’s respective regional operations and collaborates on capture strategy, project risk assessment, and coordination to build an even stronger organization for clients of the firm.
Prior to his role leading business development, Mr. Patterson was the Design Group Manager at IEI’s headquarters in Chicago, IL, where he applied his broad experience including design, project management, coordination, and quality assurances for all phases of project development – particularly for highway, local roadway, pedestrian facilities, traffic, and bridge design.
Education. Mr. Patterson received a bachelor’s degree in applied physics from Morehouse College, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University and an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Involvement in Community. His industry involvement includes active membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
