Aaron Patterson, PE
President
INGENUITY Experience. As President of IEI, Aaron Patterson leads the firm’s day-to-day operations and growth strategy, working with all IEI offices to strengthen client partnerships, expand markets, and deliver consistent, high-quality results. Aaron aligns strategy, talent, and resources to help clients advance complex programs efficiently and confidently.
Aaron drives innovation and thought leadership across the organization while fostering a collaborative, client-focused culture. He works closely with regional leadership on pursuit strategy, project risk evaluation, and coordination, helping teams deliver solutions that support long-term client success. Earlier in his career, Aaron led IEI’s Business Development Group and served as Design Group Manager at the firm’s Chicago headquarters.
Education. Aaron received a bachelor’s degree in applied physics from Morehouse College, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University and an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Involvement in Community. His industry involvement includes active membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). He is a member of the Infrastructure Engineering Foundation Board.
