INGENUITY Experience. Michael Sutton is the founder and Chairman of the Board of IEI, where he shaped the firm’s culture around Integrity, Excellence, and Ingenuity. From starting as a two-person office, he has successfully grown IEI into a national firm of more than 200 professionals in less than 30 years. Michael has curated a strong leadership team that continues to advance the firm’s vision, carrying forward the path he laid while expanding IEI’s capacity to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions and positive outcomes for clients. As Chairman, he focuses on guiding the firm’s long-term strategy, fostering sustainable growth, and supporting the leadership team in achieving excellence across all markets and projects.
Education. Michael is a graduate of Northwestern University where he earned his Civil Engineering degree.
Involvement in Community. Universal Agape, now the Infrastructure Engineering Foundation, was created by Michael to serve disadvantaged children and families. It’s just one of many civic organizations that he has actively supported.
