City of Detroit Program Management Consultant
The City of Detroit is making significant investments in upgrading its public infrastructure. As Program Management Consultant for the City, IEI oversees a series of key transportation projects and infrastructure improvements throughout Detroit. In this role, IEI manages a variety of capital improvement projects for the Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Complete Streets Program. This initiative is focused on enhancing roadway safety, improving mobility, and providing better accommodations for pedestrians across Detroit.
IEI provides the City of Detroit with engineering management, scoping, design, inspection, and community engagement support. IEI also assists in preparing bidding documents and overseeing project execution.
To date, ten localized projects with a combined construction value over $5 million have been delivered, including:
- Virginia Park Street Reconstruction and Drainage Improvements: Rehabilitation of a historic brick road in Detroit’s Virginia Park neighborhood.
- Archaeological Monitoring: Oversight of excavation and construction to preserve historical and cultural sites.
- Safe Routes to School: Cost estimating and site evaluations for pedestrian safety improvements at K-12 schools, including ADA compliance designs.
- Bagley Statues: Design engineering and construction inspection for the installation of new statues in Mexicantown, enhancing the neighborhood’s gateway.
- Livernois Tree Grates: Site evaluations and construction inspection to assess drainage conditions and safety of tree grates.
Bagley Bollards: Design and installation of safety bollards along Bagley Street to enhance pedestrian safety.
