2016 Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOTH) Design Engineering Services for Various Task Orders
Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is providing comprehensive design engineering services for more than 20 work orders encompassing roadway, structural, and drainage improvements throughout Cook County. As part of the Invest in Cook (IIC) Program—an annual $8.5 million initiative supporting transportation planning, design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction—IEI is delivering program support services to the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOTH) for 49 awarded projects. These services include coordinating with grantees, tracking project progress, preparing and submitting quarterly reports, managing schedules, ensuring compliance with Intergovernmental Agency Agreement (IGA) requirements, and collecting documentation necessary for milestone reimbursements.
IEI has also performed specialized engineering services on key assignments, including bridge inspection and evaluation for the Hintz Road Land Bridge at Echo Lake, where the team assessed structural conditions, identified deterioration, and developed rehabilitation recommendations with cost estimates and permitting considerations. For the East Lake Bridge over the West Fork North Branch Chicago River, IEI evaluated rehabilitation alternatives, conducted load rating analyses, and developed a preferred structural solution supported by life-cycle cost analysis.
In addition, IEI is conducting drainage reviews for Highway Permit applications and performing project and plan reviews related to drainage and environmental compliance within CCDOTH right-of-way, with support from subconsultant Hey and Associates. IEI also provided project management and structural engineering services for load rating the Hintz Road/Crawford Avenue structure, including data review, field verification, analysis, and preparation of required AASHTOWare documentation and formal load rating deliverables.
