DPW On-Call Design Services

IEI’s project team has performed a substantial amount of on-call design services for the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) that includes design on multiple contracts as both a prime consultant and a sub-consultant for traffic, roadway, trail way and structural design services.

Traffic engineering services include traffic counts; analysis and reports for lane reconfigurations and safety studies; traffic signal design; traffic signal warrant analysis; pedestrian friendly crossings and other safety facilities throughout the Indianapolis area. Roadway engineering services include design of pavement resurfacing and replacement, concrete joint and crack repair, asphalt pavement repair projects and ADA curb and ramp design for multiple project assignments throughout the Indianapolis area. Designs included, field verification of existing pavement conditions and drainage issues associated with pavement failures, design of repair and resurfacing and compliance with ADA standards along with specifications and quantity estimates. Sidewalk and ditch designs also include drainage design and incorporation of hybrid ditches, which reduce the amount of stormwater discharge to city sewers.

Trail way design services include drainage design, horizontal and vertical alignments, conformance to ADA requirements, and property owner coordination.
Structural design services include the structural design of culverts, wing-walls, foundations and miscellaneous bridge assessments.
