Fall Creek Tunnel construction

Fall Creek Tunnel

This project is an integral component of the City of Indianapolis’ CSO Long Term Control Plan. Much of the older portions of the City, especially Center Township, are served by combined sewers that carry both storm water runoff and sewage. With the construction of the FCWR Tunnel, the CSO will be consolidated and conveyed to the proposed tunnel for storage and eventual treatment prior to discharging to waterways.

As a part of the Black & Veatch team, IEI is leading the structural design for various elements of the tunnel project. IEI is responsible for structure design of drop shafts, diversion structures and diversion tunnels for the CSO storage tunnel.
