George Washington Bridge NY/NJ Approaches Priority Repairs
The George Washington Bridge (GWB), opened in 1931, is a two-level, fourteen lane suspension bridge carrying Interstate 95 across the Hudson River between Fort Lee, New Jersey, and Upper Manhattan, New York.
As the Prime Consultant on this Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJY) project, IEI leads the design for the GWB Priority Repairs for both NY and NJ bridge approaches, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures. IEI is responsible for providing structural inspection and preliminary and final design construction documents, and construction cost estimates for approximately 50 locations in both NY and NJ. IEI leads the field inspection, project management, preliminary and final design, and coordination with the Port Authority Line Department and a team of subconsultants.
