Greater Peoria Mass Transit District AE Building Design and Renovations
The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink) was established in 1970 and had reached the point where maintenance and technology were at their service life. CityLink was looking to modernize its buildings, expand capacity, lay groundwork for future electric bus services, and overall improve the life expectancy of the CityLink campus.
The project included the construction of several new buildings – a 3-story administration building, a maintenance building, a paratransit annex, and a detached paint and body shop. The site plans included a new employee parking lot along Van Buren Street and drainage upgrades to meet the City of Peoria’s current requirements.
IEI provided civil engineering for the site improvements for the new parking lot along Van Buren Street and the expanded visitor parking center. IEI made plans for pavement improvements and stormwater detention upgrades to meet City of Peoria requirements. Additionally, IEI oversaw the requirements for multiple permits, including the IDOT Driveway Permit, the SWPPP permit in coordination with SHPO and IDNR, and the City of Peoria Div. 3 Erosion and Stormwater Permit.
