Illinois Tollway Design Upon Request – Systemwide

IEI performed a Systemwide Design Upon Request (DUR) contract for the Illinois Tollway from 2014 to 2017 that included a variety of Phase II design assignments. These tasks varied in size, scope and service sectors that include hydraulics, roadway design, structural bridge design, civil site design and engineering research.

Under this contract IEI performed 12 overall tasks that included drainage structure analysis and rehabilitation; drainage analysis and flood mitigation; bank stabilization; a white paper on pervious pavements; site engineering for the Tollway headquarters’ parking lots; and rehabilitation of 17.6 miles and 37 bridges along the South Tri-State (I-294). The total construction cost of projects for this design contract totals more than $29.5M.
