Indianapolis Airport Authority On-Call

IEI is a prime consultant partnering with the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) on a multi-year contract for a variety of assignments that include stormwater management, emergency repairs and design, traffic engineering, stormwater and deicing management, structural assessment and rehabilitation, pavement management, pavement resurfacing, ADA access, roads and streets, and parking facilities. Some of the projects that we have completed under this contract are outlined below.

IND Weir Cook Parkway Berm Design – IEI designed earthen berms to provide the current contractor for an active construction project a viable option for removal of excess excavated material. Berm locations were selected and designed to best shield the sight line of airport visitors from potential construction staging areas. IEI also prepared grading plans to be included as an addendum to an existing contract.

MQJ Indianapolis Regional Airport Storm System Improvements – IEI provided construction plans for the repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of various portions of the stormwater conveyance system for Phase I Storm System Improvements. This project set out to correct sedimentation issues, leaks, damage, missing part, and generally restore the system to the originally designed functionality.

IND – Parking Garage Traffic Calming – The initial phase of the project included investigation of various traffic calming devices to reduce the risk to pedestrian traffic as various airport crosswalks through introduction of traffic calming at three major vehicular and pedestrian traffic crossings on the ground floor of the IND Parking Garage. IEI installed traffic calming devices and upon selection of the preferred device, IEI will provide detailed design for construction.

IND Parcel 7 Storm Pipe Easement Assessment – IEI conducted a Storm System Condition Assessment for IND’s Parcel 7 Storm Pipe Easement, which runs under the Clarion Hotel parking lot and continues north around the old terminal parking garage southwest of High School Road and Sam Jones Expressway. This project assessed the condition of the storm sewer system by televising the entire length of the system and providing a Condition Assessment Report.

MQJ Indianapolis Regional Airport Storm System Improvements Inspection – This project provided inspection services for the design prepared by IEI under Assignment #2. Inspection scope of services included repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of portions of IND’s existing stormwater drainage system to correct sedimentation issues, leaks, damage, missing parts, and generally restore the system to originally designed functionality.
