Indianapolis Airport Authority Projects
IEI has been involved in projects for more than nine years. Over these years, we have
provided design and inspection services at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND), Eagle Creek Airpark (EYE), Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport (UMP) and Indianapolis Regional Airport (MQJ) with a wide spectrum of projects ranging from runway rehabilitation to various airport utility engineering services.
- IND 5L-23R Runway & Taxiway “A” Rehab – IEI provided design assistance with the preparation of construction plans and specifications for the rehabilition of Taxiway “B” at Indianapolis International Airport (IND). IEI was responsible for the design and specifications related to the rehabilitation of the fire hydrant system located parallel and south of Taxiway “B”. Rehabilitation included the replacement of the existing “wet” hydrants with “dry” hydrants and the replacement of the underground hydrant encasement structures in which the hydrants are located.
- IND Rehabilitate Taxiway “B”- IEI provided design assistance with the preparation of construction plans and specifications for the rehabilition of Taxiway “B” at Indianapolis International Airport (IND). IEI was responsible for the design and specifications related bilitation of the fire hydrant system located parallel and south of Taxiway “B”.
- Metropolitan Airport (UMP) Runway Rehab – The intent of this project was to rehabilitate the runway pavement and navaids. IEI served as a Sub-Consultant on Woolpert to provide engineering and design services for the LED lighting replacement design, construction proposed pavement typical sections and runway pavement markings.
- The Seerley Basin Deicing Control Facilities Improvements – The Seerley Basin deicing control facility stores and treats runway runoff containing deicing chemicals prior to discharge into Seerley Creek. The project involved replacement of approximately 250,000 square feet of existing HDPE liner and three aerators along with addition of sluice gates to the east end of the basin allows for quicker transfer between the contaminated and clean side of the basin. IEI was tasked with leading the project team responsible for the design and production of the construction plans and documents.
