SR 26 Road Rehabilitation
The project set out to rehabilitate 15-miles of pavement from the Intersection of SR 26 and US 41 to the West, at the Warren County/Tippecanoe County Line. Project limits extend through the Town of Pine Village and included the addition of curbs and sidewalks, as well as improved stormwater networking. Additionally, improvements to the pedestrian safety and accessibility were integrated to mitigate flooding. Work outside the town limits extended East and West, and included the addition of shoulders at locations not currently present, drainage improvements, and resurfacing. This $15.7M project along State Route 26 and 55 includes the rehabilitation of 15 miles of pavement. The project limits extend through the town of Pine Village where the improvements include the addition of curbs and sidewalks and a better stormwater network to increase pedestrian safety and accessibility while also mitigating flooding. The work outside of the town limits includes the addition of shoulders at locations where not previously present, drainage improvements, and resurfacing. IEI’s lead consultant responsibilities include the engineering assessment of the projects limits to prepare the scope for the design phase of the project. IEI is also responsible for delivering the analysis and reporting to be considered by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
IEI was chosen as the prime consultant to perform the preliminary engineering assessment which included preparation of the scope for the design phase of the project. The scoping deliverable also featured a preliminary engineering report, and environmental red flag analysis, as well as alternatives presented.
