Various Phase II Pavement/Bridge Preservation Projects

Various Phase II Pavement/Bridge Preservation Projects

IDOT is responsible for maintaining 16,000 miles of highway. District One covers six counties in northeast Illinois, which is by far the largest district by population. Due to the heavy traffic and harsh weather in northeast Illinois, roadway conditions deteriorate over time. For this project, IDOT’s goal is to extend the life of its roadways and bridges.

As prime consultant, IEI is providing Phase II engineering services for work related to contract plan preparation for pavement and bridge preservation projects, development of specifications and estimates, related project support services, and surveying on various projects in District One.

The IEI team have been assigned 39 work orders to date. These involve 53 miles of pavement resurfacing, 404 ADA ramps, and 15 bridge repairs. 24 of these have resulted in a successful letting. All have been on schedule and on budget while meeting IDOT’s high quality standards.
