Maike Rodriguez, P.E. Appointed Vice President of Operations, New York and New Jersey

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is excited to announce the Promotion of Maike Rodriguez, P.E. to Vice President of Operations, New York and New Jersey.

In his role as Vice President, Mr. Rodriguez will oversee implementation of strategic growth, staff development and engagement, client relations, contract management and oversight of day-to-day activities for both the New York and New Jersey offices.

“Maike has consistently demonstrated his commitment and work ethic to drive the growth of the NYC office,” said Kashif Khan, “I am excited to work with him as we continue to build our presence in New York and New Jersey.”

Since joining IEI in 2017, Maike has led IEI’s NYC office, establishing the firm in the market.  When asked about his expanded role, Maike remarked, “I am excited to take on this new role as Vice President of Operations, NY/NJ, and I am confident that with the help and support of my NY team and IEI leadership, we will continue to earn the trust of our clients and grow our presence in the New York and New Jersey markets, as both prime and teaming partner. Dustin Quincy, P.E. Appointed Vice President of Engineering

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is excited to announce the appointment of Dustin Quincy, P.E. to the newly created position of Vice President of Engineering.

As the engineering leader of the firm, he will be responsible for not only establishing the guidelines but also promoting a culture of consistent excellence, quality control and best practices in the technical delivery of projects and services to the firm’s clients. Dustin will work closely with project teams in all offices on the delivery of design, construction inspection and program management projects.

IEI President Kashif Khan remarked, “Dustin is the right person to lead this role for the organization.  Since joining IEI in 2007, he has successfully delivered or been involved in a diverse portfolio of projects for clients in multiple offices, overcoming challenges and establishing best-in-class practices.”

Dustin asserted, “As VP of Engineering, I will be focused on driving greater consistency in our engineering workflows and approaches, thereby enhancing the cross-utilization of our expertise in all markets. IEI is a newer large-project competitor, and as we grow, my role is to empower our staff to do their best work for our clients. I am excited for this new opportunity to collaborate with our Operations Leaders and staff across all offices to help continue to provide exceptional service at a larger scale.”

 

IEI announces Ken Smorynski’s advancement to Regional Leadership

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Vice President, Ken Smorynski, PE, SE to Vice President, Illinois. This consolidation of IEI’s well-regarded Chicago and Peoria, Illinois offices under a single leadership will sharpen IEI’s focus on strategic statewide growth.

Mr. Smorynski will oversee  IEI’s design, program management and construction inspection staff for the entire state. He will also be responsible for staff development and engagement, client relations, contract management and overseeing day-to-day activities.

“As we continue to grow rapidly, IEI seeks ways to operate more efficiently and better serve our clients and staff. We are pleased to have the excellent talent and experience to promote from within an existing firm leader who is very capable of taking on this exciting role.,” stated IEI President, Kashif Khan.  “I am excited about pairing the talent in our Peoria office with our Chicago team to provide our central Illinois clients even better service in meeting their infrastructure needs.”

 

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. Promotes Aaron Patterson to Chicago Office Design Group Manager

Chicago, IL (September 14, 2021) — Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is pleased to announce that Aaron Patterson, PE, PTOE has been promoted to Design Group Manager to lead the efforts of the design team at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Patterson will now be responsible for managing Chicago’s design team while overseeing the design and coordination of several projects. He will mentor the next generation of IEI engineers and share knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

With more than 14 years of design and transportation experience, Mr. Patterson will focus on continuing to develop the firm’s design capabilities to deliver successful solutions for our clients’ most challenging projects.  He and his team will oversee key client relationships, proposal development, and project execution.

Mr. Patterson originally joined IEI in 2012 as a project engineer and his tenure has included several complex projects, most recently serving as the CDOT Aldermanic Menu Program Manager since 2019. His broad experience includes design, project management, coordination, and quality assurances for all phases of project development – particularly for highway, local roadway, pedestrian facilities, traffic, and bridge design.

Aaron Patterson studied applied physics at Morehouse College, civil engineering at Columbia University and earned his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and New York and certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).

IEI is confident that Mr. Patterson is well-positioned to build upon IEI’s reputation for excellence and contribute to our firm’s expansion and our clients’ success. “Aaron has excelled at always putting our clients’ needs first. IEI Commemorates a Business Milestone and Corporate Office Relocation

July 31, 2018

On June 21st, IEI celebrated the firm’s 20thAnniversary and the Corporate Office’s Open House. More than 75 people attended the event which was warm and welcoming for clients, partners and guests. President and CEO, Michael Sutton kicked-off the evening with a short address of the firm’s 20-year history and a grand thank you to all in attendance.

Many guests had the opportunity to meet and speak with special guests’ Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, 9th Ward Alderman Anthony Beale, and Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce President Larry Ivory.  The event was a great success thanks to the event’s committee and Grand Events’ Special Event Planner, Diana Hennington.

 

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. Has Moved

We have relocated our corporate office from 33 West Monroe to 1 South Wacker Drive just a few blocks away.  Our new address is One South Wacker Drive, Suite 2650, Chicago, Illinois, 60606 (Madison and Wacker).

We now have more room for growth to further our commitment to the community and better serve our valued clients.

2017 Engineering Excellence GRAND PROJECT Award

IEI won the GRAND PROJECT Award for US 31 Hamilton County Freeway as part of the design team. Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. provided the design of the new 191st Street Interchange and storm water management and drainage design for the 3.5 mile section of the freeway for the Indiana Department of Transportation.  Read More »
