IEI observes Juneteenth

June 18, 2026

Juneteenth is observed annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. The 2026 Juneteenth theme, “Juneteenth Brings Balance to America’s Celebration of Freedom,” reminds us that our nation’s story is strongest when all voices, experiences, and contributions are recognized as part of our shared history.

As a majority African American-owned civil engineering firm, IEI recognizes that progress is built through opportunity, inclusion, and investment in communities. The work we do every day helping plan, design, and improve infrastructure contributes to creating places where people can thrive.

On Juneteenth, we honor the resilience, achievements, and lasting contributions of African Americans, reflect on the progress that has been made, acknowledge the work that remains, and reaffirm our commitment to advancing equity, expanding opportunity, and leading with purpose in the communities we serve.
