Indianapolis Office 10-Year Anniversary
We’ve rung the bell to 10 years in Indianapolis! It was in January 2006 when we began our Indianapolis office with one staff member. As we celebrate today, we’ve grown to 18 staff members including engineers, inspectors and administrative support. The office works in varied engineering markets and has worked on significant projects throughout Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. Indianapolis Day at the Track
As our continued way to show appreciation to our clients and partners, we hosted our annual Day at the Track on Fast Friday – May 20, 2016. It’s an exciting year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as they are celebrating the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500. For the Fast Friday Event, drivers practiced for the 500 and garages were open to meet and greet with drivers. The Day at the Track gave us the chance to say “thank you” to all of those who support IEI.

Michael Sutton Joins 100 Black Men of New York City
IEI is pleased to announce that owner, founder, and CEO Michael Sutton, has been accepted to become a member of the prestigious 100 Black Men of New York City on April 13, 2016. The 100 Black Men is a volunteer based organization, striving to improve the quality of life and enhance the educational opportunities of African-American males. The firm is pleased to have Michael as a member, and he and IEI are eager to continue our efforts in contributing to the community.
Big Plans in the Big Apple
2015 is a year of aiming high, but nothing was as big as our Big Plans for the Big Apple. Throughout the year, IEI had been working on a build out for our office located in the uptown Manhattan, and finally, after a year of planning and construction, the work is complete! Read More »
Interns
Over the summer, IEI was pleased to have four young and aspiring engineering students as a part of our team: Jimi Akintonde from Whitney Young Magnet High School, Matthew Auston as part of the Evanston Township High School Junior Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, and Zakura Williams and Jaimelle Stone heralding from ACE Tech High School. These four eager students spent the 2015 summer learning and partaking in the IEI culture. While their time with us has come to an end, they took much from the program, and IEI welcomes the opportunity to provide well-deserving students exposure to civil engineering within a corporate environment. Eye on IEI
In this edition of the Eye on IEI, we take a look at the growth for the 2015 year. For starters, IEI had the ribbon-cutting for both the Springfield, IL and Omaha, NE offices. Internally, IEI experience further expansion, adding Theodore St. Germaine as the New York operations manager, Christine Marecki, Corporate HR Manager in Chicago, and Greg S. Ellis, P.E., construction inspection manager in Indianapolis. Also, Raspal Bajwa, senior project manager, finds himself growing alongside IEI after 12 years of dedicated work. Read More »
Employee Announcement: Ted St. Germain
Ted brings over 35 years of experience to the IEI team in both public and private sectors. In the public field, Ted managed large capital programs and other assignments within the New York State Department of Transportation for 19 years. On the private side, Ted participated in a significant design/build as sector project manager for the JFK Light Rail. The combined project and construction management experience, and his wide scope of perspective will be a great asset to clients.
As the New York Operations Manager, Ted will be responsible for business development in IEI’s various marketing segents as well as: program management, business administration, client relations, and staff development and management.

IEI Announces Certification as a New York Minority-Owned Business Enterprise
Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. (IEI), local office located in Harlem, is pleased to announce the granting of certification status as a Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE) by three New York entities. The New York State Department of Economic Development, Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development; The New York City Department of Small Business Services and The Port Authority of NY & NJ all certified IEI to be listed as an eligible MBE firm.
