During this Black History month of celebration, the firm stands behind Northwestern University’s (NU) efforts to create bright and promising futures for NU’s black/African American students. Considering the firm’s commitment, Michael Sutton, IEI’s President and Northwestern University Alum, gave the first payment of a financial pledge to Northwestern University through IEI’s philanthropic arm – Infrastructure Engineering Foundation (IEF). The financial gift will help advance the school’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts pertaining to black/African American students . IEI Joins OMWBD Panel Discussion
Infrastructure Engineering Inc. Executive Vice President, Kashif Khan, joined other industry leaders for the Office of Minority and Women Business Development’s (OMWBD Indianapolis) 13th Annual Year-End Forum. The virtual panel discussion addressed the unique impacts of the pandemic on XBE firms and what to expect in 2021. The forum included City Council President, Vop Osili, along with representatives from city agencies who spoke about the upcoming opportunities and expectations of the City from all stakeholders responsible for delivering services and goods to the City of Indianapolis. More than 100 people attended a day of information, inspiration, encouragement, and vision.
IEI Continues to Support and Inspire in a Changing Environment
Amidst an unexpected and unforeseen 2020, IEI continued to be present with businesses, leaders and the youth throughout the communities we serve.
In addition to the many organizations and causes IEI supports, President and CEO, Michael Sutton participated in a number of panels, spoke to a group of engineering students and supported several programs in 2020.
Michael joined a virtual panel discussion with the Black Business Empowerment Commission to discuss the impact that Covid-19 had on Black Businesses, as well as the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey’s (AACCNJ) Black Business Month’s webinar series. He also presented for The Science Consortium of Minority Schools (SCMS) with other notable leaders to inspire and encourage women and minority students to consider careers in engineering.

IEI Awards Scholarship to Civil Engineering Student
As part of the Civil Engineering Professional Advisory Council (CEPAC) program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), the Infrastructure Engineering Scholarship was established by CEPAC member Michael Sutton, President of Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. (IEI). Clarice Lyons Davidson and Latisha Bell, both of IEI, awarded the scholarship to a high performing civil engineering student, and member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
CEPAC enhances the undergraduate experience in civil engineering by creating connections for UIC students in the professional community, providing an industry perspective on the curriculum, and participating actively in student projects and activities.

The New York office celebrates its new location, the City of Indianapolis gets its first Rapid Transit System and IEI assists the City of Waukegan meet the needs of a growing population.
IEI’s New York Office Celebrates its New Midtown Location
IEI New York’s Operations Manager, Maike Rodriguez, and the New York team celebrated the firm’s New Midtown location on October 10, 2019. Friends, partners and clients of IEI joined the team and other IEI staff in support of the move and to tour the new office, which now provides easier access for the team and the firm’s New York clientele. The open house was a success thanks to the New York team, the Chicago corporate staff, as well as friends, partners and clients of Infrastructure Engineering, Inc.
IEI Is On The Move
On July 29th IEI’s New York office claimed a new address in Mid-town. The office moved from 233 West 135th Street to 141 West 36th Street, Suite 1804, New York, New York, 10018. The new location provides easier access, broadens the firm’s capacity to better serve clients, and enhances our commitment to steadfast, quality service.
IEI Dedicates Park Bench to Maggie Daley Park
As Infrastructure Engineering culminates the year-long celebration of its 20th Anniversary, the firm, in keeping with its mission of supporting communities, dedicated a park bench, in the firm’s honor, to the Chicago Parks Foundation. The dedication was attended by IEI’s senior leadership team and Chicago Parks Foundation Supervisor, Jackie Guthrie. On Saturday, December 15th, 2018, IEI memorialized the milestone with the corporate office’s annual holiday celebration. Located near Maggie Daley Park’s rock climbing wall and skating ribbon, the park bench displays the firm’s golden 20th Year Anniversary plaque. The holiday celebration included Maggie Daley Park’s Marketing & Event’s Manager, Jessica Bergeron, IEI leadership, staff and friends and family.
IEI’s Peoria-Springfield Office Celebrates the Firm’s 20th Anniversary
On Monday, November 12th, IEI’s Peoria-Springfield Office celebrated the firm’s 20th Anniversary. Friends, associates and local partners joined IEI’s Peoria-Springfield team in an intimate setting to commemorate the milestone. The atmosphere was a warm and regal backdrop displaying the firm’s history gallery and the chance to personally welcome and extend a many “Thanks” to guests. The event was a success and a great time had by all, thanks to the Peoria-Springfield staff and the firm’s Corporate staff.

IEI’s New York office celebrated on October 11th, the firm’s 20thAnniversary. More than 50 attendees of clients, partners and associates arrived to help the firm celebrate the occasion. Maike Rodriguez, the firm’s New York office’s Operations Manager, gave a warm welcome to everyone and introduced the firm’s President and CEO, Michael Sutton who talked about the firm’s history and the opening of the New York office in October 2015 and new business accomplished with the support of many in attendance.
