2019 Summer Internships and Shadow Day

Chicago-based interns, with IEI President, Michael Sutton and Marketing and Research team

Lindblom High School Students spend the day at IEI for Career Shadow Day

IEI’s 2019 summer interns diversified their internship experience by working on critical projects, conducting research and assisting in the field. Listed from left to right are Interns Amari Murry, A rising Junior at Little Black Pearl Art & Design Academy High School in Chicago, Candela Lencia, a rising Sophomore at Cornell University in New York, Louivania Brown, a rising Sophomore at Northeastern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL, Joel Hernandez, a rising Junior at Brown University in Rhode Island, and Luke Kroh a rising Senior at Colorado School of Mines in Colorado.

During the stint of their internships, each intern participated in projects that directly and indirectly related to engineering. From marketing research and data management, to accounting support and on-site inspections, they were delighted to be welcomed as part of teams.

In our round table discussion, they expressed that the experience was above and beyond expectations and that they learned a great deal from IEI staff while working directly on active projects. IEI is proud that its leadership and staff really believes in and supports the mission and vision, creating a positive environment and experience to learn and grow. Kudos to IEI staff for continuing to make the internship experience both fun and educational.
